The Marsteller Robotics Club is going to meet the week of August 18 from 8:30 - 12:30. This will give teams an early start on this years game. There will be a cost of $100 for the week and any student that will be in 7th or 8th grade next year is encouraged to attend. Please go to the files section and you will find a sign-up and information sheet.
Students are encouraged to go to one of Northern Virginia Community College's summer Vex camps. If you would like any guidance to see which would be the best fit for your child please do not hesititate to contact me.
Students that will be in 6th grade next year will be doing Vex IQ which is a stepping stone for Vex.
Northern Virginia Community College has started registering for Vex summer camps. I encourage everyone who wants to do vex next year to participate in the camps. There are Vex 1, Vex 1.5 and Vex 2 camps available. These camps have a much smaller ratio for student to adult so there is a greater ability to learn new things. Vex 1 is introductory and if you know basic building and programming you should go ahead and do the Vex 1.5. Students going into 8th grade and are comfortable building and programming should sign up for the Vex 2 which is 2 weeks long. They will be building a robot for the upcoming game.
Again, I encourage all students interested in robotics to sign up!!
