Volunteers Needed for State Tournament!
If you are able to volunteer please go to the following website to register a time and date. They only have about half of the needed volunteers.
Virginia State Championships
The state championships will be held in Doswell Virginia on February 20th and 21st. Students will need to be at the facility at 10:00 Friday morning and things will wrap up about 6:00 pm. Saturday the event runs from 8-5. Some of you may choose to stay overnight. It is up to you but if you want to stay overnight you may want to make reservations soon. I plan on coming home Friday evening and returning in the morning. Friday will be an excused absence but students will need to let their teachers know and get any work that will be missed.
I am including the link from robot events that has information about the event and a permission slip will be coming home. I will be at the facility during the times listed above, all other times you will need to provide supervision for your child.
Please E-mail me if you have any questions. email@example.com
All teams will compete this coming Saturday at Beville Middle School in Dale City. Please be sure to be at Robotics Wednesday to get a permission slip. I will need one team member to bring home the robot and the tool box Wednesday.
We will not be making up the tournament at Marsteller all competing teams will be in the other two tournaments in the county. They will be big with about 70 teams in each. Not having the Marsteller tournament hurts the club financially since I was expecting to make $1500 from the concession stand. I am going to return any food or drink on Wednesday that was brought in to school. I apologize for the inconvenience.
If any programmer has time to look online at http://www.vexforum.com/showthread.php?p=371103 it is an autonomous planner that may be useful. There is a video that goes with it. Please don't try to do too much since the competition is so close but maybe for one of your programming skills run you can come up with something. Good Luck!
Students I will see you Wednesday and parents this weekend.
